I did use iTunes match to upgrade most of my tracks to 256k, so they sound pretty great!
In the car, I like to ride with the windows open whenever I can, and that blots out any quality issues. I do some of my listening at home, where I can tell the difference between 128, 192, and 256.but after that it's all "CD quality". I think it depends on your listening situation. Sounds like a great topic to revisit if someone wants to start a thread about it. I've done my own tests between 128, 198, 256, 320k and uncompressed and I can hear the difference between each.
